When sending an email, encountering an error message
Sender [email protected] has an outgoing mail hold. Message will be reattempted later
Cause:
The email account has been temporary suspended due to exceed the mail sending limit. This can happen when users send a large number of emails in a short span of time, which triggers the server email sending limit policy. This policy is in place to prevent spamming and ensure fair usage of shared resources.
Note: Our server email sending limit 200 emails / hour / domain
Solution:
To reactivate the email account, follow these steps:
- Log in to cPanel.
- Go to Email Accounts.
- Select the email account that is having the problem.
- Click the Manage button next to it.
- Under the Restriction section, tick the Send Outgoing Mail from “Hold” to “Allow“.
- Click the “Update Mail Settings” button to save the changes.
Once you have completed these steps, the email account will be reactivated, and you should be able to send emails without any issues. It is advisable to keep track of your email sending limit and avoid sending too many emails in a short span of time to avoid account suspension.
